The seminary was a response for the need of the Archdiocese of Manila of a subordinate section of the San Carlos Major Seminary. The seminary aims to focuses on the four aspects of the life of their seminarians: Spiritual - forms the seminarians to be holy and faithful in their prayer lives; Academic - develops in the seminarians an appreciation of learning as an integral part of human and vocational life; Community - building communities through interaction, communication and relationships; and Social - forming seminarians to be genuine servant leaders. Located in Bernardino Steet, Guadalupe Viejo, Makati City, the structure of the seminary was completed in May 1995, and on October 5 and 6 that year, the minor seminary was officially opened in its new building from San Carlos.
